2012 Hyundai Sonata build.

Hey guys,
I'm purchasing a new Sonata - should have it some time next week. I would like to run a 3 channel amp, sub (probably 8" ported) and fronts (I assume 6.5" rounds). I'd like to keep the factory head unit, as installing an aftermarket deck might get too expensive, and I'd prefer to keep the factory look this time around.

If memory serves me, I'd need a Line Out Convertor to make this happen. Unless the OEM stereo has RCA outputs, which I doubt it does.

I'm getting older, I have a young daughter (18 months), and don't need mind blowing bass, or copious amounts of volume. Just some bass for more accurate reproduction of what I'm listening to, and powered fronts for better sound as well.

Any suggestions? Comments?

I'll do some research and keep this thread going with what I think might work.

Amp? http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...4.80.html#tabs

Sub >>> http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...-SWR-823D.html

That's what I'd do for starters. Then add a decent set of component speakers further down the road. The Sonata has tweeters up in the dash.

That's a really impressive setup, but not something I'd consider doing. My daughter poos enough, no need to produce the "brown note". lol

In the past, I've read that the LOC's can be troublesome, and that, as good as they are, cannot match an aftermarket headunit in making good sound. If the LOC's and associated parts and install are going to cost me a few dollars, than I'd rather find a way to install a aftermarket stereo.

I've long promoted the Re-Q and Re-Q5 LOCs as they are excellent. The AudioControl LC2i and LCQ1 are very much worth having a look at also as they have an optional sub level control **** available which IMO is a must. If I don't buy a full on processor like a BitOne I will probably pick one of these two up for my Flex.

So after some initial research into what my options are at this point, here's what I've tentatively decided to do.
1. Have my Memphis 5 channel repaired. 4x75W @ 4ohm, 1x300W @ 4ohm (1x600W @ 2ohm).
2. Buy this dash kit. [COLOR="Red"]Link
3. Get this head unit. Link >>> http://www.kenwood.ca/Car_Entertainm...ivers/KDC-X696
4. Get this Steering Wheel control Interface. Link >>> http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...xess-ASWC.html
5. Get this subwoofer. Link >>> http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...-SWR-843D.html

I'll get my wires from KnuKonceptz. Purchased from them previously, for my wife's car's build, and was very impressed with quality/price.

The logic behind the headunit selection is that its the model in this Kenwood line that offers Bluetooth and Steering wheel control integration. The model beneath this lacks the Bluetooth connectivity. My wife's deck is an Excelon as well, which works superbly with her DLS A5 amp.

I'm not getting the gear from the sites I've linked to. Just using them for research.

Am I missing anything? The front speakers will be upgraded somewhere in the future.

Truly, for the $99 the LC2i retails at ($89 @ FS right now) I would give it a shot before spending the money on an aftermarket deck. In fact, that is exactly what I am doing

That unit is something I'll have to consider. My only concern is that while the bass frequencies are "recreated" by this unit, that there's going to be some degradation in it's quality. However, the price is right.
I really need to hear a system with the LC2i integrated, and hear the difference (if any).

Thanks for the insight.
