so i'm trying to help out one of my buddies with his ranger. hes got no room behind hes seats at all. he built a small wedge box that fits between the seats its 6" deep at the top and 15" deep at the bottom, 12" wide and 22" high, he built it out of 1/2" mdf and ported out the top, its for a single ten but he wants to get the most outa of it, hes currently running an infinity sub and some pyle amp putting out about 250-300 rms. any tips? or ideas?

The box works out to 1.26cuft before displacements.....when he built the box did he have a tuning frequency calculated for it?

Personally I would stuff a sock or 2 in the port and try it like that....without knowing how big the port is it is hard to say what it should sound like....

It should have a brace for that long wide panel on the back.....1/2" MDF will flex like crazy at any kind of volume......

HTH

Slot port it out the bottom, not out the top. Fire the woofer at the back wall, not at the windshield.

Yup......you might want to double-check the tuning frequency as well....1 port will take up less volume and should be enough to get you that low....

The bottom of the slot port should be the bottom of the enclosure. Space the sub 2-3" off the back wall.
