'93 Del Sol Install

Im buying my brothers del sol off of him, however the car is getting a new engine in it this week... So, my question is:
What kind of space is behind the seats? Would it be possible to fit a 10" woofer back in there... maybe an amp too?

Its been a long time since Ive been in the car and I cant remember how large of an area there is available... I could be thinking of his corvette when Im 'remembering' a decent amount of space for some subs+amp back there.

Thanks for anyone who can help.

in the Del Sol, it is hard to get a decent sound system out of the space there... a nice thin mount sub would do the trick here, something like a single 10" or something to that tune! Talk to Steve@smartass about the Jbl Gto series or a Infinity1040, these are both thin mount subs. Or if you prefer local, Pioneer has a thin mount sub now!

I built lots of DelSols. Most I ever put in one was 4 12" woofers. Fitting 2 12" is very easy. Heres a pic of the last one I did before it was finished.

Jl audio makes a snazzy little stealth box for that car. I would prefer to have a custom box made by your local installer

fozzz, that looks cool -- inspired me... however Im not sure if im looking to get a nice professional job like that done. I was planning on just getting a woofer and building a box to spec so that it would fit properly to one side, then mounting the amp somewhere back there also.... Im not entirely sure because I dont have the car right here.... but Im sure ill get some ideas in a few mine here looking at your picture.

How much would an box installed like yours cost?

Thanks

Well the wood would be like $50. Plus glue and other materials. Say $100 plus the finishing material (carpet, vinyl.........). I'm not a pro, I just do this stuff for fun.
