'94 Regal - Running The Power Wire
Simple question. I've gotta '94 Regal (as most of you know, i've posted quite a bit looking for help), and i'm not to sure where i should run the power wire. I need to send it through the fire wall but i cant find a decent place to do it. I've only really checked the driver side, not the passengers. The cable im running is a 6-guage (i think) booster cable (yes, booster cable. It's big, and doesnt cost very much. i picked it up at Canadian Tire for $25 - just had to cut off the clamps and twist the wires). Anyways, someone please help with a spot for the cable to go through, and that'd be great - if theres any sarcasm, i'll be able to take it this time - thanks in advance.

running the cable.
I'll take the clamps from ya if you don't need them...
Just find a nice easy access spot and drill a hole through the firewall.
The make sure you protect the power cord and you are in business.

okay, i know i must drill my own hole, i tried that. but I cant find a good enough spot. theres so much rubber and foam and carpeting its hard to find a spot that will go through for me. If somebody that HAS a regal, or can go look at a regal to see what im talking about, that would be good - just so you know where im coming from. thanks.

As for the firewall, in many GM cars you have to drill your own hole.

I just did one two weeks ago - it was either a 94 or a 95.. The one without that gaytarded 3piece POS GM Delco junk-*** piece of crap garbage deck.. but I digress.. I think the body is the same on both years anyway.
I popped the wire through the driver's side firewall, about 1.5-2" to the right of where the hood release goes through at about the same elevation (as seen from the interior). Should be just to the left of midway between the steering column opening and the hood release cable. If you look in the engine compartment in that area you will see the hood cable comes through right above a structural member and there is nothing to the inboard side of it to accidentally drill into.
As with any advice on drilling through things - this was merely my experience. I spent 20mins making sure that I was not going to hit anything. I suggest you do the same.

Thanks 'DUKK', but my hood release is on the floor beside the driver's seat, so i can't really drill into the floor ....also, if i look into the engine compartment, there is so much sh*t in there, i can't see anywhere that i could drill through - it's going to be so hard

The hood release HANDLE is on the sillplate. The hood release CABLE goes through the firewall.
I told you - I just installed a system in one of these.
Obviously this is all way too advanced - take your car to a professional installer before you burn it to the ground.
