95' Regal Ground Spot?

I've looked around the trunk on my 95' Buick Regal and can't find an existing spot to ground. I really don't want to drill holes or have to sand. Anyone familiar with this car suggest a good spot? There's no bolts I can see anywhere...

There is a braid of wires that run to the top left part of the trunk floor covered by a black plastic cap. I don't know whats grounded there but would it be ok to ground my stuff to the same spot?

TIA

Dont ground an amp to an existing factory ground point. Also have you thought of grounding directly to the battery negative? Thats what i do, and you cant go wrong. Except for the extra cost of wire to get back to the battery.

Thanks dude. Money is so tight right now but I'll consider that.

Will this mean connecting both amp ground along with the cap ground run back to the battery? I'm using a cap but also so I don't have to use a d-block so both amps will run to cap and I was going to ground the cap in a different spot than the amps... or what do you suggest?

Run your positive from the battery to the cap. Then out from the cap to your amps. Run your ground from the battery to the cap and then out to your amps. Easy as that. What size wire are you using?

Easy enough! Thanks dude.

4ga wire all through... problem I'm having though is with fuses. I bought an AGU holder for power wire but it's so cheaply made, the fuses don't fit snug inside. Sooo I just bought an ANL holder off ebay and been searching everywhere for a 40A fuse as that's what my amp takes, no luck...

The closest I can find is 60A or 100-150A. Does running such a large fuse under the hood still protect everything? I'm adding a second amp so total fuses for both amps will be 120A but until then I have to wire this mono amp as is. Everyone seems to have a diff opinion which has me confused as hell...:\

I ran a 60 amp fuse for a 40 amp rating before. You should be fine. I had the same problem due to having an ANL holder. If you dont have much cash you could get 15 feet of 4 gauge shipped to you for under 20 bucks to do a ground right to the battery. knukonceptz.com Any other questions just PM.

Lightbulb

There is no need to run a ground cable all the way back to the battery. Make a hole, sand the paint, ground to the floor.

all that fuse does is protect the wire going to your amp from shorting out. Without the fuse, there's always a chance of starting a fire. Also, some SPLers say that it can drop their scores (I'm not sure if it's true).
You could probably have a 100 amp fuse under the hod and never have a problem.

Going back to the battery is the best possible scenerio for grounding unless you can get to the frame. Grounding to the floor or body might result in remaining voltage. So if you are using a multimeter on your ground and you have more voltage then 0, you will be moving it because this standing voltage can ruin your amp quickly over time, when i grounded to body and floor i always had to move it. Went to the battery and havent looked back.
