Is the Ai-Net cable the same as Sony and JVC's?

Also, I am looking for short cable. The shorter the better. Preferably used and at a good price. I just hate to see ten miles of cable wound up when I only need 1 metre.

How do you pronounce "Ai-Net"?

I, as in I am Canadian?
A, as in the letter A?
A-I, as in Artificial Intelligence?

In my experience the Sony and Alpine cables will mate properly but the sound through the Sony in particular does not sound as good as the genuine Alpine AI cable. I still haven't pulled any apart to see the conductor arrangement. I haven't tried a JVC cable
J
