alpine pdx1.1000 question

hey guys, got a quick question perhaps someone can help me with. just bought a used alpine pdx1.1000 mono class d amp and im a little baffled as of why there are 2 speaker outputs on on a mono 1 channel amp. it will be pushing 2 alpine type s subs but how should i wire them if i only have 1 alpine speaker plug ? thanks for any help. http://www.crutchfield.ca/Alpine_PDX_1_1000_1000W_x_1_Car_Amplifier_p/500pdx1100.htm

just tape the other speaker wires. that amp is still bridged into one channel even tho theres two sets of wires.

The amp is internally wired, wire each sub to each output and ghet the same effect without taping wires together.

i only have on of those special alpine connectors so i taped them together in the one connector, works pretty good other than some kind of protection comes on when i try to krank it way up. i wander if there is a speaker protection or something that kicks in. the amp doesnt shut down it just stops playing until i turn the receiver off then on again.

your alpines going into protect because your final load is to low. chances are below 2ohm on that amp.

look up a woofer wiring diagram, chose your subs vc config and wire it accordingly and vola! but on that pdx the load needs to be between 2 and 4 ohms

almost all good quality mono blocks will come with two positive and negative speaker connections, it helps when youre running large subwoofers with low gauge speaker wire instead of cramming two wires into one terminal you can connect each wire to its own terminal but they are essentially connected to eachother inside the amp so the amp only sees the one connection, so just hook your positives and negatives together instead of having loose wires flopping around that could possibly start a fire
