alpine typ x sub + pdx 1.1000 amp

So I have 2 alpine type x 10" DVC 4ohm subs, and an alpine pdx1.1000 amp stable at 2 or 4 ohm 1000 rms. Type x subs as you guys might already know are 1000 rms each. (i know this amp might not give enough power for the two subs but now that i have this, lets wire it until i get another one)

I can wire each sub at a 2ohm load, now since the amp has 2 sub outputs even though amp is mono block, can i just wire each sub at 2ohm and run it to the amp? would this give me a 1 ohm load? (sorry if its a stupid question)

or if there's another way, please, let me know since i want to know how would i go about wiring the subs to get the full potential from the amp?

if you wire it the way u say, yes, you'll have a 1 ohm load. i don't think that amp will do it.

you need one of those amps on each sub.

you can try it, the amp will go into protect when you turn it up.

With 500wrms going to each sub you could have gone with the typre-r subs if you're an alpine guy.

Now you should buy another amp just like the one you got

yah my plan is to buy another one of these amps but a bit later one..since this amp costs over $600!

back to the point.... i can also wire these subs at 4ohm and both of these combined would give me a 2ohm load? (the amp is either 4 or 2 ohm stable @ 1000rms)

ps. yes im an alpine type of guy! I have type r 6.5" components front, type r 6x9's rear, had type r 10's but now type x and another pdx in a couple months!

I'm a little confused... in your first post you mention that you can wire each sub for a 2 ohm load and now each sub is for a 4 ohm load? I don't think you can do both... If you've got dual 2 ohm subs, you can wire each one for a 4 ohm load and parallel to the amp or wire each one for 1 ohm and series to the amp. Either way, it's a 2 ohm final load. Doesn't really matter. Just a matter of taste, if that...

I'd wire each one for a 4 ohm load personally so that when you get your other amp, you don't have to re-wire the subs in the box, just add the other connection to the box for the additional amp and voila your done. If you do it the other way, each sub is wired for 1 ohm and you'll send the amp into protect mode or the repair shop.

Type X's iirc, only come in Dual 4 ohm, so I beleive what he is asking if he can wire them to produce a final 4ohm mono load, and yes you can do this, underpowering them X's for the first lil while will not hurt them as they tend to get STINKY for the first few hours of use!! I had one and I had my car stinking BAD for a good month!!
