alpine type r blowing out of box

Buddie of mine called me telling me that his 12" alpine type r is literally blowing it self out of the box.

Its in a sealed bass worx box, which is actaully bigger then what the manual suggest it be in. The manual suggests 14.4X14.5X10.5 (external dimentions) and the box he has is 14"H X 15"WX 13"D and for power, the sub can handle 500 watts rms and hes only putting about 250ish to it.

the sub is literally pushing the screws out of the box. its a brand new box so he wasnt putting the screws into used holes.....

anyone have any idea what might be going on? I could understand if the box was way too small for the sub but like i said its actually bigger then what the manual recomends.

model number is swr-1243D

any help would be appreciated

I don't know, but that's pretty cool! I know on my Orion HCCA's, it had BIG Special screws that went in there. What kind of wood is it?

Pre drilling screw holes is a must in MDF. If it's not done, the wood splits and breaks. T-nut will def help if you have enough clearance around the sub cutout.

Nuts and bolts, ever since my L7's were blowing themselves out of the box. I've upgraded now and have to bolt my subs in.
