haven't heard the orions so i cant comment, but the arc coaxes would be a massive step up from the CD coaxes you currently have.

 

It's usually the install, not the speaker, that's to blame for low/lousy output.....even the crappiest speaker should keep up to a certain point.
Most likely the rears are mounted sealed , and the fronts are a leak.
Fix that, then go back to 4ch/4ohm, and set the gains accordingly.

I had the door panels out to replace the rollers for the windows this weekend and did the wiring to my front's as well. I doubly made sure that I sealed around the template I build with caulking, and even put some batting in the behind in the bottom of the door. I even sealed most holes with some peel and stick soundproofing.

The high's aren't too bad, but sound tinny, no real bass, more a mid-mid base. I found out doing a search on these fronts I bought, Forest City Surplus were selling them for $30Cdn. Their not bad for that kind of money, but I think I'm definitely going to upgrade in the future.

Thanks for all your help. I ran out of time today to rewire, but will do so next weekend. I did spend more time properly setting gains without a meter, and am more pleased with my settings although disappointed the volume is not ear deafening yet of the 100wts/channel. I might take it to a reputable installer to get it checked for optimization.
