amp bridging.....
Not sure what you're upgrading from but this "1000WATT" amp is a little misleading for the consumer.
You may wish to take a look at the manual for this one:

The amp is really rated for 35rmsx4 at 4ohm and this is at 14.4v and at 1kHz which means you're going to be really lucky to even see 35w per channel from this one.
So to answer your question: yes you can bridge one side of it but this amp will only give you 35x2 + 100x1 out of this "1000 watter".
And yes a single 8g power wire will be fine for it (although not for a true 1000watt amp).
