amp cutting out

i have a amp that is 2 ohm stable mono block class D

it is powering 3 8 ohm so the amp is seeing 2.66 or 2.33 ohms but the amp keeps going in to protect... the amps gain is 1/4 and bass boost off and sub sonic on and freq is all the way down at 40 hz....'

it seems to cut out when the deck gets turned up fast if you turn it up slow then it is ok but still cuts out at higher volumes.... the deck goes from 0 to 32 volume and the sub out i have on 0 out of -5 to +5
it still happens if i have the deck on -5 for sub out... the amp has no lower then 12.2 volts on batt+ and rem and the groung is great. i even tryed running a wire out side the car direct to the battery for a ground and it still does it i have put a new fuse in the amp and the fuse holder at the battery i have put a relay on the rem wire to make sure that it is getting higher amps then the deck puts out on the rem output

i have tryed putting a box with 2 svc 4 ohm subs wired to 2 ohms and it cuts out the same way. now the subs what i have now if i only have 2 wired up that is a 4 ohm load on the amp and the amp never cuts out... but the amp is a mono block and is rated at 2 ohm and the owers manual says to get best out put to show the amp a 2 ohm load. and when the amp goes in to protection the batt+ stays at 13.6 and the rem stays at 13.6 ...... so i have no idea other then the amp has a defect..

any ideas other then that???? i dont have another amp to try so i think that might be my next step.

This initially sounds like the amp has issues in it's protection circuit, the big curiosity is the power ramp-up speed

is there any way the amp wont go into protect at all?

the amp only goes in to protect when i load it down below 4 ohms... at 4 ohms it does NOT go in to protect or cut out.

The amp 'sees' the speakers impedence, not resistance. Impedence is frequency dependant. Although a speaker is rated at 4 or 8 ohm, its impedence will vary a great deal.
Try narrowing the freqency range. Bring your sub-sonic filter up to 25 and your lpf down to 70. My guess is that will do it.

that was pretty much what i was gonna say...

the impendence of the speakers is prolly varying enough to create a load your amp issint stable at.
