amp prob

i have a PG 300.1 and no matter what ohm i run it at.2,4,or8 mono or sterio it keeps getin really hot then cutting out.anyone have any idea what could be wrong with the amp?i have 4ga running to it with the proper fusing.

What kind of subs are you running off it? I had the same problem years ago with a PG XS2200.. in the end it was the subs that caused the amp to screw up..

2 12" PG octane r`s they are dual 4ohm and new out of the box a few days ago.

^ as Yuli says bad ground ... or
a poor connection in the power supply... or
an overheating amp (bad location/ air flow)... or
an internal amp problem... or
a speaker/ speaker wire issue... or

If you run those subs in parallel, that would bring the amp load to 1 ohm. Will that amp run 1 ohm stable?

If you tried to do the above first, maybe you killed your amp.

yea u could only run 1, 4 or 16 ohm loads with 2 dvc 4s (correct me if im wrong im a lil slow today)
