Is there anything wrong with using marretes to connect the speaker wires to an amp? What about power and ground. The wires on my amps are getting kind of short so I'd rather use marretes if it's safe.If not I'll use crimp ons.

marretes have no place in a car.

OK,crimp on it is.I'm trying to get everything together before I start this install. The amp install kit I have has a 4ga. power wire that goes to a dist. block which goes to 2 8ga. wires. How do I connect the 8ga. wires to the 10ga. wires on my amps. The only butt connectors I can find are 10-12ga.

Solder them together, and then tape over the connections.
