best amp setup
best amp setup
So I found sitting around my house a 4 channel amp at 400w per channel. I have a 10" svc sub, I was reading about bridging 2 channels? Also I would like to use it to power my front speakers. Would it be best to just use a single channel for the L and R front speakers, and then bridge the final 2 to the sub?

I am curious what amp you have, 400W X 4 means you better have some fairly robust speakers.....

Don't forget to setup the crossover filters on the amp....do you have seperate sets of RCAs for the fronts and the sub from your deck?

I have a single amp output from my deck, so I would only be running a single set of RCA's to the amp. I'm fairly new to the whole stereo thing, but I do have 2 crossovers and my speakers are actually not the best, they are the 2 way? 5 1/4 from Princess Auto. If they wont be able to handle the power then I can just forget about that and leave 2 channels free? What happens when I bridge 2 channels, just more power?

Go ahead and use the amp.....set the highpass filter on the front channels to around 100hz or so, set the lowpass filter for the sub around the same. Keep the gains at minimum the first time you fire it up and you should be fine....

Welcome to the hobby/addiction....have fun on here.
