Why would you want to mold release it in the first place? Bondo is not strong and should be used in minimal amounts if possible. Anyways, what you want is PVA. You can thin it with resin if you want, that seems to keep it's strength up best. It will shrink a bit when curing, if you are worried about it just don't mix too much hardner in, it will take longer to cure, but will shrink less.

So you mix resin with bondo eh?
Do you add hardner to the resin before you add it? Can you elaborate a little please.

All "bondo" plastic filler is really is the same polyester resin that "fibreglass resin" is but with enough filler (like talc) added to it to make it pasty.
Add resin until you get the consistency you need, add the catalyst (prefer to use liquid myself), and away you go.
Personally - I would either start with 'kitty hair', not 'bondo', or add some chopped fibre too it to bring the strength up. Would kinda suck to hit the button and have it all crumble inside the box...

It's much easier to just tape it off and bondo away then goof around trying to build this wierd shaped piece of wood.
