I would just tape the door off with packing tape, and brush PVA onto the tape. That should allow the bondo to release very easy. If you want you could also tape it off with masking tape, then spray glue foil over the tape.
One thing I would definately do though is to make some kind of 'skeleton' for the bondo to stick to, even if you are using kitty hair. Otherwise it would eventually crumble in larger areas.

 

Further to that I would first lay down two layers of fibreglass. Then after that has set go in with the kitty hair to make whatever shape, then lay another layer or two of fibreglass over that.
