Hey guys

I'm a newbie when it comes to subs and boxes but I got a free sub and amp and I want to build a box for it. I'd like to keep it as small as possible. I've searched the web but haven't found anything that I like. The sub is a JBL GT100 (10" single VC 4ohm) and the amp is a rockford fosgate 2 channel punch 300s.
The sub can handle 250rms and the amp can put out 300rms@4ohm ... so I figure it is a good match ... I just need the right size box now.
thanks for any help
Ron

If you want a small box you'll have to go sealed

12.5x12.5x12.5 = is a basic cube and ouhta do it just fine.
I gave a TAD extra for woofer displacement.
Anyone feel free to correct my math if im off?

Using 3/4 mdf by the way

BTW if you just wanna buy a box? A q logic # 1 is recomended.

some fleece or something is used sometimes... dampens the rear wave and attenuates distortion nodes....

dont expect a major change in sound though.. maybe a little one...

No point with a sealed box IMO, but if you wanna go ahead but its not a big deal.

well I've started the build and can't wait to install it and here how it sounds
I'm sure it will sound allright for being my first sub

one thing I'm still looking for to complete my system is to splice my OEM wires to my speakers with 18 guage wire but I can't seem to find small enough terminals to stay on the speakers ... any suggestions as to where I can get them? I also need a fuse holder. Or do I just go to my local car audio shop

try not to build it as a cube, more like a rectangle. if you can , slope the backside of the box.a square box will produce standing waves and kill your output. the gt100s are kickass cheap subs in a ported enclosure, but average in a sealed box. you can get the box specs right off of jbls website.
