Are you sure they weren't referring to a ported or vented box? Those types of enclosures are typically larger.

Just a word of caution, if the box is REALLY too big you may as well take the sub and lay it on your backseat because its going to think its in free air. Bad things will happen to Mr. Sub.

Hows about adding a divider to the inside of the box to create a chamber more suited to the sub? You dont need MAd yO tIGgHT skills, just make it "close" and seal up the gaps with putty, silicone, whatever.

i was jsut going to make another box later close to specs with RE calculator anyways.
