any ground will work. all it needs is a negative to close the circut to say "i can turn on now". so in essence, the simplest would be to ground it with the units main ground, and it will work all the time, 24/7, 365. whenever you want it too.

does it matter what kind of dvd indash it is? i knew you could just ground from what i heard, but i was also just wondering because i read up on a forum once that i cant find now, bit it said some jensen in dash dvd players need some type of bypass code that you put in with the remote and touch screen or something. i have a vm9312 7'' touchscreen in dash. hopefully i can just ground it but i just wanted to do it the simplist way/proper way most ppl do it.

DO a google search for "Jensen Indash parking brake code" and in the first 5 results is the code you speak of and method for entering said code. You CANNOT just ground the wire on that unit, as with many new units it needs either a sequence like Alpines or needs to see the ground AFTER the deck has powered up like pioneers
