Calling all old school guys

I have a gentleman that has an Alpine 7368 cassette deck. This thing is old. And brand new.

All things awesome aside, he is trying to find a way to use it with current gear. Ideally going from the proprietary plugs on the back to RCA connectors will be what we want to do. We do have a KCM-122B cable that has the same pin configuration but we are unsure if we want to try it and fry something.

Does anyone happen to have any experience with this stuff?

Whip out a volt meter, plug in the cable, and see if you get a nice voltage range out of the RCA end. Either that, or hook the voltmeter directly to the pins that you expect have the output - that won't blow anything. Does this page help you out: http://sol20.com/ATENZA/cables_E.htm

Are they 5pin or 8pin?

I have some old dealer info at home that I will try to remember to go through that might have the pinouts.

That was an awesome post. I'll have to do some playing around.

Here's some pictures.

And the spare male-female cable
