Charlie, I am my own installer And, since labour is free and I already own all the gear... the cost of the wire is going to be the largest single cost of this project. Wire quite frankly is a complete rip-off in Canada and its rather pathetic that I can import it from another country cheaper than I can negotiate a good deal at my local store. If I'm lucky, they're throw in "an extra foot" while charging me more for 12 gauge than Knu charges for 4 gauge. (I used to bottle wine at home as well so I know were that's coming from )

Yeah, you have to be careful buying wire these days.
I'm sitting on some stuff labled 1/0 ga, that fits easily into 4 ga ring terminals.....nice thick insulation tho, just to make it harder to install. Be good for a sub-100 amp system tho, and worth just under what I paid for it.

If you're going to put the effort into finding a "good deal" on wire, don't use 2/0 ga......go as big as your connectors will allow.....wire is one place where there's no such thing as overkill.

And if it looks good, it'll sound better too
