Car deck

my deck seems to be randomly turning on and off, it usually happens when i play it at louder volumes, it works perfectly fine if i turn the car off then back on or if i take the deck faceplate off then put it back on. The deck has been fine since October. so just wondering what you guys think it could be. I do have 2 re se10d2 if that has anything to do with it.

Had this issue in a friends car and it was because of a large voltage drop, sometimes as low as 9.xx volts.

Make sure your electrical is up to par

Yes.....if you have a multimeter check your voltage levels at the battery and at the amp inputs with the system idling and at full volume. If your voltage at the amp is dropping under load the Big 3 will help, you may need larger power wire as well.....

so i just check the voltages at the battery when idle it range from 14-15.3volts when playing music loudly it stayed constant wit its idle voltages, from the amp at idle was around 14.6v and when loud it dropped down to 11.53volts so is that with in acceptable range. so would that mean upgraded power wire would help i currently have 4 guage to the amp

I would do the big 3 first anyways.....it's a no-brainer when you are already having voltage issues.......you may still wind up replacing the power wire with 2ga or larger.....

ight do u think 18 feet of 0 guage will be enough to do it in a pontiac g5 coupe where the battery is in the back.

Easily.....I'll warn you now the distro blocks and connectors are a little pricey compared to the 4ga stuff.....

The 0ga might be overkill but that's a good thing.....

the stock wire in the g5 is 4 guage already so 0 guage thats the only really upgrade, do u think if i just upgrade the power wire to the amp to 0 guage for now as its very easy to do.
