Caravan issues, big 3 WTF

OK finally found some me time to do my big 3 upgrade. 98 caravan, 0 ga alt to bat, ground engine to frame, ground battery to frame. Turn key, no cranky, battery voltage dropping, double triple, quadruple check all looks good. Any ideas?

if u left the original wire in.. hopefully.. all i can think of is a blown starter. well sinonoid wont deploy and still cranks so voltage drops

knock a few times with a hammer on the starter to see if it works. if not well i dont know lol garage u go maybe

My mom had a 94 that had a starter get all wonkey some times all she would have to do is put it in neutral and let the buss move a bit then start it, starter gear wouldent line up with flywheel as good or somthin

yeah I know for my van, a 98, you have to leave the factory wire on. its connected to something thats connected to something else but needs it to start. I think the + run for the bat to alt runs through the starter, or some part I forget which one. I just know the factory wire needs to be left on. if thats not it then yeah try going to a garage. but if you removed all your factory wire put it all back.

I know with my 97 Jimmy that I had one wire that went from my starter to my battery. I kept all my factory wiring and added 0 gauge wiring. So maybe he removed the factory wire that went from the starter to the batt?

Some people remove the factory wiring and some leave it.

If all original wires are still in place, then you probably shorted something in the process and blew a fuse or fusible link. Double check all fuses, remove ground from chassis or battery, wait 30 seconds, and re-install. If no go, then you need to go to a mechanic shop.

Your battery voltage dropped and then rose to 48 volts? How did you measure it?

Very odd how this happened. Yes I left the stock wires, everything was checked and double chaked, check the links, ect. Tested battery with load tester. BUT connect negative, and the battery would slowly die..lol. I have the battery out and put one of my redtops in and it seems stable now. Odd though that the laod test did not kill the battery right off.
