does anyone have color codes for 2001 cav i wanna cut plug off and wire in new deck but cant find color code for it found for 1999 but not 2001 thanks

 

Why cut the plug? Spend the $15..

Get the harness, wire it up colour for colour, no guess work, saves time

DON'T cut the harness or I will call you names that you will not like.

i went to 3 places first place wants 150 next place 200 last place 150 for plug feeding me line of bs about how it will not work if spliced in

 

You dont need the factory retention harness, if you dont care about your door chimes. Get the tracker/gm harness, 15 bucks. There is nothing wrong with wiring your deck directly to the factory wiring, if you do it right.

 

You may need to source an accessory turn on for the deck, but besides that, everything should be at the harness. The only issue should be the loss of door chime.

 

Yep. The only thing that the $150 harness does is give you a retained accessory wire and a door chime.

Get the Geo Metro harness and tap into the windshield wiper circuit for accessory and you're done.
