Component Install Questions
Component Install Questions
I got my new MB Quart RCE-216 components delivered yesterday. Part of the reason i got those is that they aer Bi-Ampable. ( i asked in an ealier thread about crossovers, and was told you have to use the crossover that comes with the set.)
I already have a phoenix gold MX2 crossover before the amp and 200 mF caps on the amp output for the mid/bass. I was running the factory components that way. That worked well, but since they are 2 ohm, i had way too much power.
Anyway, i'm wondering if i should now feed high and lows into the passive crossover, or should i feed both inputs full range?
And do i still need the caps for low end cut off or will that happen in the passive crossover? The manual doesn't have any specs on the crossover, the website says 4200 Hz 12 db crossover.
I e-mailed MB Quart tuesday, no reply yet...
I managed to fit the 6-1/2's into the factory Bose speaker mounts that had 6", but it took some modifyn'. The Bose mount was also poorly mounted with only 3 screws. Didn't look very solid, so i drilled more holes for 4 more screws.
I was about to do the dynamat on the doors when it started to rain. I'm hoping to get it done tomorrow.
