Custom box wiring
Hey all new to the forums and need some help.
I've made a custom box to fit in the back of my Ram...this box will hold (2)-51/4"...(2) 61/2" and (2) 10" Eclipse Subs.
The 51/4" and the 6 1/2" are both 4 ohm sets and the subs are 8 ohms. They will be running off a Rockford Punch 201.
I want to keep that amp (100 watts per ch )at 4 ohms, and don't want to push it to 2 ohms.
If I wire all three speakers (5.25"4ohms + 6.5"4ohms + 10"8ohms) in parallel (per side) will I end up with the 4 ohms i'm looking for ?
Hoping to hear from you soon as I'm on vaca this week and would like to get it hooked up asap...Thanks

Nope. If you run that all in parallel you will be at 1.6ohms per side (nominal impedance). If you run the mids in series and then parallel that to the sub you will end up at 4ohms but I'd be surprised if you are happy with it.
IMO you should not put any of the mids in the box. Run just the 10s in it on the amplifier. Put the mids in the doors off the radio power.

Thanks for the Info Dukk
The Subs are separate from other speakers in the box...They are going to be used more or less for higher bass frequency.
I also have an under the backseat box by Attrend with 2 10"Sony's Powered by a 1100 watt Kenwood.
I know about the parrallel and series wiring and how it effects impedance.
That's why I thought having the 2 sets in parr would be 2 ohms and adding an 8 ohm load to the figure would drop it to 4
I don't really understand this parallel series wiring you talk about and how that would look.
Would you possibly be able to show me in a diagram on how to wire this setup.
Thanks again Dukk
