cutting mdf inside?

cutting mdf inside?

any of you cut mdf inside? I managed to coat my supra in a layer of sawdust .

any tips on how to prevent this?

Cut it outside? I used a shop vac with a jig saw but of you are using a table saw or skil saw then good luck......

I use a table saw so i guess i have to cut it outside...good thing it was warm today...i got a few things done.

I've used a router and table saw with shopvac attachments and neither worked perfectly. Some dust always escaped (sigh). By the way, the bonding agent used in MDF is bad for the lungs. Better to make cuts outside.

Cut mine in the kitchen (I live in an apartment downtown). No vacumm. Had to sweep after every 1 to 2 cuts. Should have had it all cut at home depot. Cutting list was not complete.

Wet down the wood a little with an empty (water) Windex spray bottle or similar. Dont get it soaked of course, but even a little bit damp should help cut down the dust tremendously.

I doubt wetting the wood will do anything. This only wets the surface and the dust is from the wood being removed from the center. The only way this would work for be to spray it as you are cutting it and you don't want to do that.

you will be finding sawdust in hidden nooks and cranny's for months
and yea the MDF dust isn't really that good to ingest
