DEH-P3900M iPod Connection

I have aforementioned deck installed in my truck. I recently purchased a CDI200. After tearing apart the godawful dash assembly in my F150, I was appalled to find out that the deck and cable are not compatible! And of course, being the careless shopper that I am, I threw out the receipt for the cable. So now I'm stuck with a cable that I can't use.

Basically, my question is; I know the 3900M is iPod compatible. I double checked the manual. Is there an interface cable available for that head unit, or am I stuck with the AUX in on the front? I can survive with that, but I'd rather nice stealth look.

Any feedback is always much obliged.

i beileve it is a male-female end USB cable. then you take a male - ipod cable and hook it up. when i say ipod, i mean the style of prongs that plug into teh bottom of you ipod (for example, when you carge it)

I dunno. There is no USB slot in the back that I remember seeing. Maybe I'll pull the deck out and take another look. But from what I remember, its a like twelve pin male connector on the back. It pretty much looks like the other (not iPod) end of the cable....

Should certainly work. it connects t the IP bus cable. Not 100% on the 3900 but usually it's a 5" wire coming from the back of the head unit, labelled IP BUS It'll be blue in color and the head unit has the "female" side of the connector. ..or it could be a socket right on the head unit itself.

Okay. I ripped apart the dash again. And took a look at the deck. There's no USB slot back there, and the only blue wire coming out of it is the remote wire. I checked for a wire labeled IP BUS and I didn't see anything. There was also nothing on the right, just preouts. There is a random little black port beside the blue piece I thought was the iPod connection. It kinda looks like the plug in for a radio, but its a lot smaller. Any ideas on what this might be? There is also another AUX out back there too, and I could maybe use it, but I still have the problem of not being able to control my iPod through the head unit, which is the entire point of this debacle.

I also did some digging around on the Pioneer website, and found that there is in fact a control module for the 3900, but its around $100, which is significantly more than I was hoping to spend, specially considering I already wasted $40 on this now useless cable. And it looks like a hassle to install, and hide. Its a big freakin module, and space is kinda at a premium.

Just for kicks, does anyone know where I could get my hands on a Pioneer CDI800II on the west coast for relatively cheap? Or is eBay gonna be my best bet? Should I try to take the 1200 cable I have back and get the shop to order in the 800?

Thanks Jeepbeats! I figured out what everything back there wasn't for, but it's always nice to know exactly what goes where. And that is exactly where I found out that I was screwed with the cable that I bought. Imagine that. Finding out something on the manufacturer's web site.

What kind of price would I be lookin at for that module, and how much is it gonna cost me to get it shipped up to K-Town?

Thanks!
