I'v tried everything, clipping at 1/5th power.
Here is what we got:
07 g6
stock alt
stock batt
pioneer headunit
skar rp2000
2x machete m10s wired at 2 ohm nominal
good quality 4 guage.
big 3
My issue it that no matter what I do my amp is clipping at about 300 watts.
I checked my rca signal and it is clean being checked with oscilloscope
I ran 2x4gauge jumper cabled from under my hood strait to the amp to test for a bad ground but this made no difference
I did the same thing with my positive and this made no difference
I checked the dc resistance of my subs to see if one was messed up and they were both fine
I even have a friend with another rp2000, so we swapped amps and no matter what I cannot pass 300 watts clamped.
What is interesting too is that my voltage is 100% fine, like dropping maybe .2v when I have them turned up then the moment my amp starts clipping at roughly 20-25v rms depending on frequency, the voltage across my amp drops to 12.4 while my engine voltage stays above 13.1. Theoretically I should be able to turn these subs up past 40vrms since the amp dynos at 1400watts on 2 ohms.
Is there somthing I am missing!?
