I'm considering buying 4 RE 8's(running @ 8ohms off my Orion 2500d)

I was gonna port em with 4 cubes net, 60sq" tuned to 34hz.

I also was thinking maybe of doing an ABC since you run the 8's in one with success. Jon from Genuine also is quite happy "abc'ing" them too.

Now, from what I understand about the ABC, I would take the volume I would "normally" port them(in this case 4 cubes net) and divide it into 2 chambers( a 66.6% - 33.3% ratio)

Then I would find out the port I would need to tune to 34hz for them, and split that length up(a port for each chamber, and one to connect the chambers)

Am I right so far???

The only thing I was wondering is, how do you cut up that port? In equal lengths? Would 1 6" port be enough? Or should I maybe do a 7 or 8" ?

If you could give me a design for that, I'd appreciate it. I'm curious to see one of these "ABC" boxes in action. See how good they really are

4 cubes is alot for 4 8"s. ...if you wanna go that big, you will defenetly need more then 60 sq inch port.

Orion is right, RE recommends .5 ported per sub, tuned to 32 hz. I built a box yesterday for my one RE8 that is around .58 cubes, with a 2"x15" port (around 32-35hz I think?). Sounds awesome, realy hits the lows nicely. The ABC is supposed to be sweet too. Good luck!

You are on the right track. When it comes to find out the port length though, model the box for 2 ports, not one. Let's say your program says you need two 3" ports, 11" long in order to port your 4 cube box to 35 Hz (I'm just throwing numbers out there). Your port tube you want to use then is 3" x 11" long. So, each chamber would get a single 3x11 port and the connecting port would also be a 3x11. You model for 2 ports even though you use the size for one, but use it 3 times. Make sense?
