Explain this to me.

Okay so the other day i redid my factory grounds cause the one was all chewed up and i wanted to clean up the batt connections under the hood anyway. So anyways after im done i reprogrammed my H701 with the exact same settings as before but now my bass is quite a fair bit louder and definatly more impacting for lack of a better word. I mean i ended up -3dbing the level on my sub channel and its still more than it was. My gain is barely cracked on my sundown 1500 and no settings were changed on the amp. Its also not a figment of my imagination as i can tell by my volt gauge aswell that my amp is definatly pulling more draw even with the -3db. Its not really a big deal and i can get rid of it easy enough its just bothering me that its differnt now than it was before.

On an unrelated note the more i leave this Fi Q in the more i am impressed with it. Its not my 05 XXX but it takes a beating and sounds pretty damn tight and responsive.

Seems to me that your amp was not getting full power before due to poor factory wireing at the battery, now that the wire is upgraded the amp is making full power. This makes pefect sense to me.

But i had already done the big 3 like 2 years ago i just also left the factory side posts wiring aswell. Not to mention it also drew plenty of power before its just drawing it at a lower volume now with identical settings. Especially with the -3db on the amp level threw the 701 that in theroy is like half the power isnt it?

the slow degradation and oxidation of the connections increased the resistance to the power wires, since this took years it wasn't noticeable but you fixed it and suddenly saw a return to the power flow of 2 years ago.

JohnVroom hit it right on the head, bad grounds = more resistance = less flow = less wattage getting to your amp and then through to your subs. Grounds are equally as important as your power connections as they complete your circuit.
