Unhappy F'ed up my install last night, fried my Pro-Mos 425

Ugh, late night, up til 2:00am completing my install. Am pretty sure the cause of my fried amp was that I had a bad ground for it, as the negative/ground wire of the amp got really hot. Smelled some burnt electrical (no smoke), and amp no longer works. Now need to get it fixed.

On a related note, I used wiring diagram for my car and wired the speaker wires from my Kenwood deck direct to the rear left/right speaker wires in the car wiring harness, but am finding it strange that I have no sound to those right from the deck. (the two amps are powering front end and subs separately) Not sure why this is the case.

those decks you can turn off the internal amp. What you need to do is go into standby, get into the initial settings and go to internal amp. then just turn it on.

Well, I may be ok on my amp, I opened it up today and there's four 10ohm resistors that were noticeably discoloured from extreme heat, and smelled burnt.

Unsoldered them, tested that they are actually ok still. So amp may be ok, I just have not put power to it yet to see.

Good news and bad news. Good news, the amp still works, and still powers speakers.

Bad news, for some reason power light stays on after turning off ignition, the ignition/accessory wire is connected using same feed as my second amp, and the second amp powers off.

Get a bit of a "pop" when the radio/ignition comes on basically, didn't experience this before. Sound is not quite the best, but this install is with a different car from were I had it installed before.

One of my front components crackles a lot when volume increased. (unsure if now just a bad speaker, and not the amp causing this)

Did u get your rear speaks working off deck power? Your car prob has a factory amplifier that needs to be triggered at the harness and possibly grounded there too.

Sucks about your amp. If there's sq issues, and you're sure it's all hooked up tight with no grounding speaker wires, you may be looking at other issues within the amp. And that amp staying on after power down definitely hints at more problem parts/circuits within the amp.
