Anyone ever done a system in one of these? I am looking for ideas. Was given a 1994 Probe and some equipment and he doesn't need it for a couple of weeks. Was thinking something with fiberglass between the rear struts, highlight a pair of JL12w6 (older style and not sure sealed or ported) and a US Acoustics amp. Mount/hide wires, battery thats floating arround in the hatch and a Soundstream amp for front, under a panel. Any ideas? suggestions? Anyone know where that battery is supposed to be. Mazda motor.
I used to have a '93 Probe GT with a moderate system.
If you're looking at doing a spare tire well enclosure, be aware that the well is off-centre & with the depth of the JL woofers the floor might end up being quite high as one of the woofers might not be aligned in the well if you're putting them side by side.
It's a hatchback with folding rear seats so either enclosure style should work fine (mine was sealed).
The battery is under the hood near the front of the car (I think it was on the driver's side). It uses a VERY small battery so an auxiliary in the hatch area would be wise.
I'm afraid I don't have any pictures to share as I sold this car in 2003 & all my pictures were from '95 when I did the system (pre-digital camera).
Good luck!

I had a system half complete for another member that abandoned the project.
I had fibreglassed the rear corners of the hatch for a 10 on each side and a 4channel amp in the middle at the back. We only lost 3" of depth on the back wall and the recessed corners so most of the hatch, and the spare tire, were totally usable.
Too bad it was never finished.
Incidentally - if you don't have a headunit, he is selling his console piece that has the controller for an Alpine changer flushed into where the ashtray used to be. Totally stealth.
