Hey guys,

I think my latest question got lost in my thread in General Disc.

I picked up a pawn-shop amp in the form of a used Genexxa amp (I believe it's a RadioShack amp). It says 100w of power on the front of it, but that's all I can find in relation to power - It's a 2-ch. amp.

What I'd like to know, is there anything stopping me from bridging this amp so I can get 100wx1 to my sub? Is this going to potentially damage the amplifier?

Thanks,
Jared

as long as its a 4 ohm sub, i would think u are ok, any amp worth their salt can do a 4 ohm mono load, just do your best to make sure the amp has plenty of air flowin over it to keep it cool, biggest thing with lower end brands like that is heat, but with the 87 supra, the amp bein in the hatch u should be ok, long as u dont have it pressed against your seat or somethin,
i would think that if anything a fuse would pop before the amp turned into a paper weight
least thats what happens with my PPI amp (apparently they only go into proetct mode so many times before they say uncle and pop fuses lol.... no moer of that)

Thanks man - I actually have it in a 92' Sonoma Regular cab, so the bae of it is laying against the floor, but the top is pretty exposed - I will bridge it, then watch it for heat before I drive anywhere with it bridged.

On the amp terminals does it show you which way to hook it up for bridged? I.E. left + right - ? If it doesn't, not sure how it will work.....

No it doesn't ... I just hooked it up Left + R - and it seems to be working - not sure if it's much more powerful then before, though...
