well i have a box with 2 mtx 12s in it now i wanted to use, its ported at the back, and its pretty big, the amp says that 4 guage is fine
i mean it should sound fine right?
and is the battery neccessary?
also why is there 4 inputs on the amp, its mono 1 channel so shouldnt there only be 2

that mtx box is tuned in the 40 hz to high. and the amp might want 4gauge witch u will use but from the alternator to the battery in the back is like a 20' run of stock 4gauge. i recomend 0gauge upgrade for that and engine block to chassis 0gauge and battery ground to chassis 0gauge. better the flow from the source of the power the better and less light dimming u will get.
and ur stock battery should be fine unless its not holding its charge properly. that new battery can be put in in a later date..
and the 4 rca on the amp is 2 input and 2 output for multiple amp setup

so your saying i should use my 4 guage thats running right now, and use that for an alternate battery? and run 0 guage over it for the amp?
what do you mean the box is 40hz over?

Unless you know what the box is tuned to, the area and volume of the vent, and the volume of the box...there's no way to know if it's appropriate for the new subs. Boxes are 75% of the performance equation in a sub system. There's no point in getting powerful, expensive subs and putting them in the wrong box...what you'll get is disappointed. Assuming the subs fit, those type x are fairly deep, and the cut out hole isn't too big...you'll get bass, but hardly what the subs are capable of...you can use it for now, but definitely get a custom built box made for them.

2ndly i wouldnt waste your time with kinetik batts when XS power batts are available. the xspower d3100 is a killer batt, but you could also go with the 2700 or 3400.
That amp is a decent deal.
For your woofers if you insist on buying from that site then these are your best bet imo

first of all id definitely do 0 gauge power wire.

So my questions are , if i want to buy 2 subs that are 1000 rms each, and say a 2000-3000rms amp.
1. my stock alternator and battery will be fine? as long as i buy a sep battery like you described ?
2. to upgrade my 4 guage to 0 guage all i do is replace the 1 4 guage wire running from the battery to the amp?
3. in my case i would keep my 4 guage for the seperate battery and run a 0 for the amp?
4. asuming the above is correct, i would also need to do the big "3" right? which is simply buying some 0 guage wire and running it from the chasis to the bat and alternator to the battery, correct?
all i want to do is spend 500 or something on some nice decent LOUDDD<!! subs, and run them to their full capicity, so i just need to know the steps of what i need to do.
also the box i posted the thunder one, is my exact box im almost certain. so im sure itll be fine to run these 12s fine enough?
very much appreciated

thanks, but why do you suggest these subs over the ones ive chosen? ive never even heard of RE

Ive never been very impressed at all by type Xs performance. Especially their power handling. The RE woofers are reconeable so if you ever blow them or want to switch woofer sizes you can do so for very cheap.
However I do like alpine type Rs...perhaps you could get 3 of those. Dual 2 ohm woofers and run your amp at 1.33 ohm. If you have the space for the right enclosure.
Enclosure is the most important part...you definitely dont want to buy a prefabbed box out of a store. Have someone who knows what their doing design it and you can build it yourself or have someone build it for fairly cheap.
Stronger electrical is always better. But with that much power you should be fine with stock electrical and upgraded big three wire with a big additional battery in the back to take most of the current demands.
Big three is alt to batt +, batt to frame-, batt to motor -. You can also run a larger ground from your batt to the body if you like.
Upgrade your current 4 gauge power wire with 0 gauge connecting the front batt to the rear batt. Then from your rear batt either run more 0 gauge or a very very short run of 4 gauge.
