Help! Amp keeps blowing fuses....

Hey all

Have a kicker kx600.1 i think its 2002 or 2003 model... anyhow was working fine till today when it just shut off. So i took it to futureshop installers they said fuses were blowen, so they tried putting in 2 new fuses but sparks kept flying and couldnt plug in a fuse.. whats going on? its grounded well... help

You took it to a dealer and you’re asking us? If they don’t know... I mean is this is either a load issue or an amp issue (<my guess). I know something easy and inexpensive is what you are looking for

if a fuse blows when your putting it in i would say theres something fried in your amp

Hey

The 2 different installers i went to said theres sumthing wrong with the kx series and them blowing fuses, but they said it was def. something internal.. because it was working fyne, and playing then all of a sudden cut out, and i noticed fuses were poped. THe installers checked everything, installed new fuses, but still the same problem...

NO- Dan. wtf. First replace your main fuse. A 200 amper should be fine.

come on guys... give yourselves some headroom... I'm shooting for an LPJ-600 600A industrial fuse (actually rated for DC as well as AC)
