help hooking up my small mtx system

hello there im new to the site just wondering if some one can help me out with this it pretty simple i just want to grasp the idea that it is done right

ok so im putting a small system into my protege.. i did 2 layers over the complete car roof . floor. inner and outter door skins. over 250 sq feet of phat mat

i have my Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD
a 1 farad cap
a yellow top optima batt

now i just picked up 2 mtx thunder tc510 subs in a box for cheep

so apparently they are 4 ohm subs 300w and they are dvc
both of them are wired up from future shop to a single out put that is 2 ohms

i don't really know how 2...4 ohm subs go's to 2 ohm single out put but i guess it does

any ways i also got a mtx jack hammer jh300 amp that says its 300w rms rated but 334rms measured..

i know this isn't really enough to power the 2 subs but .. i took the subs out of the box to take a look and see how they are wired.. now it looks different from what im seeing on some of the crutch field wiring diagrams

so if some one could please help me pic a wiring diagram and i will wire them up like that.. and i suppose i can choose either or of the positive and negative inputs on the map correct

here is the 2 im trying to decide between just trying to learn witch one will work

this one says its for 2 2ohm subs going to a 2 ohm out put

heres whats bugging me i thought mine where 4 ohm subs going to a 2 ohm out put but this one is the only one i can find

Who told you they are each 4ohm dvc subs? When you took the subs out of the enclosure does each sub have four terminals on it (a pos & neg for each voice coil)? I saw those on sale at FS and picked them up for $75 just to flip them and get some extra cash for my current build. But I had no takers after a week on CL and just returned them to FS. While I had the subs I emailed MTX support because there is no info available as they are made specially for FS. Here is the replay from MTX

"The TCE510X2D is a custom cosmetic box specifically designed for Future Shop so you will not find a manual for it on the website. However it is the equivalent to the TR5510X2D enclosure and the TR551004 sub woofers. Therefore you can look at/download these manuals at MTX.com."

They should be 4ohm svc, I never pulled the subs out of the prefab box to check I just took thier word for it.

MTX site also has an istall sheet for your amp. Just connect the speaker wires to the terminls on the side of the enclosure that are labeled "2ohms" to the pos & neg terminals on the amp. The install sheet shows the two outer terminals on the amp being used but it shouldn't matter, it's a mono amp and the two neg terminals are the same piont.

Hope this helps.

when you reply click the "Go Advanced" tab below, then click on the paper clip to the right of the white smiley face. This will allow you to locate the pic on your computer and then upload it to your post.

so even tho they have 4 out puts 2 neg and 2 positive they are still a single voice coil..

so this would be the way to wire it ... in pic included

also wondering if you guys can help i have 2 other questions.. i looked it up before it would just be nice to get real answers

first question .. i have a capacitor how would i charge this ..i know a bit about it.. i would just like to clear it up.. it came with the resistor so i just have to connect it up to power and and hook up the ground wire and use a multi meter to check when its fully charged.. what will it read..

second question..

i have this Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD im buying .. and i need to by pass it my last tv i didn't have to,

i found a good video that shows you how to bypass it by using a relay and connecting wires to the factory harness..

the thing is tho
he connects the remote wire.. how what wire will i use for the remote for my amp.. will i have to splice into that one or??

should i use this idea or just go back to using a switch like i have heard about

thanks for all the help

looks like we posted at the same time.

The pic you posted only shows one neg and one pos terminal. There might be 2 connection points on each but it's the same hunk of metal (electrically the same point), or is there smething I'm not seeing.

As for the cap, the resistor is there to limit the initial high inrush current (lasting for milli seconds)when the capacitor begins to charge. I've lost my resistor and when I need to charge the cap I make sure I don't make the finnal connection at the cap or batt terminal so the arc doesn't make welding marks on the cap terminals.

The remote wire from what I've heard should only be used for 2 devices if more then use a relay. Talk to pioneer or check there manual to see what kind of current the remote circuit is capable of suppling (probably in the milli ampres range). Then find out what your devices draw.
