HELP: Installing a CD Deck + 7" Motorized Deck
HELP: Installing a CD Deck + 7" Motorized Deck
I have a question:
I currently have a Apline CDA-9886 HU 1 Din. I am getting a Alpine IVA-D900 from my friend, and I want to install this DVD HU side by side with my 9886. What do I need to do to make this work? I was thinking of putting both harnesses together (D900 + 9886) and connecting it to the cars harness. I will also put a fuse and fuse holder on each deck. Will this work?? I don't have a great deal of experience installing car decks but let me know what you think.
The 9886 deck is much newer, but I still want that connected, but I also want the IVA-D900 7" DVD/CD Deck attach at the same time. My radio has a 2 DIN slot so both will fit inside.
Thanks

sorry, maybe wrong is the wrong word to use, tell me why you'd want to do this?...just to fill the gap left by the stock head unit?
or were you thinking that the 9886 will just sound better so you'll have the DVD unit just to play dvd?

What I mean is I have two decks, Alpine 9886 (CD HU) + Alpine D900 (7" Motorized LCD CD/DVD). If I were to connect these two decks, can I crimp the wiring harness from the D900 with the 9886 and then into the cars harness?
Basically, my 9886 is connected now, what I am thinking of doing is just add and matching the D900 wiring right into the 9886. I guess I will run the yellow(12v constant) separate from each deck, one in to the car harness, the other directly into the battery/ignition. But grounding will be all common.
The D900 doesn't have USB input, or Full speed iphone capabilities like my 9886. I really like the 7" for movies and maybe I will connect a x360 or PS3. I spend alot of time in my car so having the D900 willl definitely help the boredom.
Will there be a problem if I connected all the speaker wires from the 9886 into the D900 into the cars harness. Will I run the risk of a electrical problem. Don;t forget I will separate the 12v from each deck. So the 9886 will connect to the car harness, and the D900 straight to the battery or ignition.
Wouldnt it be possible to just give the DVD deck power, then RCA Audio OUT to the other decks audio IN? Sort of use it like a stand alone DVD screen only?
If it is possible, wouldnt that save a lot of wiring?

That makes good sense. But I have to check if the CDA-9886 has configurable AUX in or out
