Help installing dvd/flip-screen

Hey guys,

I have been trying and tryng to install this damn thing and it is being a thorn in my side. I thought I was good at installing this kinda thing but I guess not.

Anyways, I have a Pioneer AVX-P8DVD which is hooked to a DEH-P8MP. I can get the DVD player to power up, screen come out and touch screen working but I put a DVD in and nothing happens. I can not get it to play, I have read the manuals and I think I am doing everything right but obviously not.

Here is how I have it hooked up:

-CD player already hooked up in car and working perfect.
-DVD player hooked to temp battery for now until I know it is working fine.
-Black wires and light green (parking brake) hooked to negative
-Yellow and red hooked to positive
-Wired remote hooked from CD to DVD player
-IP BUS from DVD hooked to CD player.

Anyone have any idea, this is starting to annoy me that I can not get this working.

Thanks!

try disconnecting it from the cd player and see if it powers up on its own without the remote and ipbus hooked up.

It will not power up unless connected to the CD player. I tried initially just power the DVD player up alone with no luck.

I know this may seem weird...

But do you have your parking brake hooked up to a switch or to the parking brake? and to the brake pedal the other one? if so...try tapping the brake pedal 3 times, and then puttin on the e brake while foot is on brake, Weird I know but it just sends a code to the brain, saying YES HE IS DOING it...My alpine said just onnce one brake, and then ebrake, but in reality ...I was more like 3 brake pedals, and one ebrake. THen I switched my system to a switch as apposed to the actual pedals. Works sooooo much better..
pm me if it works

From what I understand that parking brake wire mearly needs a negative signal in order to have it function and the DVD player recognize that the 'parking brake is on'. SO right now, I just have it hooked up to the negative on the battery.

OK, I see what you are saying. And no it does not show any messages on the screen about not being able to show the DVD.

One more question. Does the parking brake wire go to positive or negative? The manual looks like positive but I was told negative.

Thansk guys
