Help installing front speakers.

I have a 97 EL and i bought a pair of 6.5" soundstream speakers. Apprently these speakers have oversized magnets.

They weren't fitting becasue there was some plastic blocking it in the back so i cut that stuff out. Now the speaker slides but not enough to put the original cover/grill back on. So I can leave the speaker without the grill however there's gaps between the door panel and the speaker. Has anybody run into this problem before?? Thanks!

Just make new spacers out of mdf and that should take care of your problem.

once you've made your MDF plates you can always use cocking or silicon sealent to fill up the minior gaps if needed
