Hey, i have a alpine 340 2/3/4 amp, witch im powering a 10 inch sub off. I need to run another amp (600w mono) into my trunk to power a 12 inch sub. i was wondering how this connects into my head unit, if i need some kind of special stuff just for this to work and so on, thanks

So, you want to mixmatch and run 1 10 and 1 12?

Well, I wouldnt really recommend that. The subs are going to hit at different times, causing a weird sound. But other then that.. To run 2 amps, you need to run a 2nd run of power wire, and split the RCAs you're already using. RCA splitters are really cheap.

just out of curiousity......................wouldn't installing a distributer block and running another rca from the hu(instead of splitting the original rca which I thought affects sound quality) be a better idea(and easier) for running 2 amps?

 

Well, the distribution block yes. I just think big power, so I personally would run another wire. But as for the RCAs you cant run another from the deck, there's only 1 output.

 

I know I'm a pain in the *** but how do you know his hu only has one output?

 

Because I havent seen another hu with 2 outputs.
