how to get steady 14.4v

HI just wondering on ways to get a steady 14.4volts running into my amp.. Curenntly i am using 8guage wiring and stock lt etc.. At the moment the volts keeps jumping from 10volt to around 14 .. IS there wheere i should put in a cap? thanks

I'd start with the big three upgrade. What car do you have and what sound equipment are you using?

there is a bigger alternator for an accord for sale in the classifieds in ONtario(ids748 I believe) Thats a good setup, the big 3 like mentioned will assist with your stabilization!!

do the big three under the hood
consider upgrading to GOOD 4 gauge wire if you are running the length of your car
if you have a cheap battery in there upgrade to a decent battery

if all thease don't help enough throw in a high amp alternator

Replace the power/grounds under the hood. Just look up the big 3 in the forums. Its a good idea, even for systems that arent all that powerful...ESPECIALLY in older cars where the grounds most likely arent that great anymore anyways. My ground from the engine to the body literally fell apart when i grabbed it.
