How to install Dual Alternators?
Hey, haven't been on here in a while, but i need this forums infinite wisdom again :P
I want to install dual alternators in my truck, im removing the A/C, made a bracket, and will use the stock belt. i can't seem to find any concrete info. i want to have both alternators working together charging the whole system.
I know that i could just go buy a HO alt and call it a day, but i off-road with my truck, and i eat through alts because they just get caked with crud. so i would rather spend less on a 130 amp with a nice warranty. plus the whole cool factor would be nice lol.
the problem i have is how i should wire everything up... this is what it looks like right now.

the truck is a 97 explorer with stock 130 amp alternator, harness has 2 wires (one im assuming is for the volt meter (thin) and other is for the stator/exciter? (thick)
thanks guys

for my dual ford 3g's I just wired everything in parallel and it works well...... thats for a 92 ford.... you will want to run the pos from both alts to the same battery though. make sure your wire to the back is sufficiant.... I would recommend no less then 1/0.
