I have installed a few system before but I have never made a custom speaker cabinet so I need some help...
I have a 12" Audiobahn AW1200Q 700rms sub and im making a box for it to fit in the trunk of a 1998 nissan sentra. I have the box dimensions figured out I just need some help on what size port to make in it... is their an equation?
Also this is my first DVC subwoofer. Can anyone explain a little on how to wire it with my amp?
Ive heard some people say i need a 2ohm amp or an 8 ohm amp to wire the DVC 4ohm sub. Please help!

thank that helps alot with my wiring question. Now all I need is what size my ports should be...

The box is going to be 2.08 cubic feet...
Dimensions are 15" High 15" Deep and 16" Wide.

that would be the internal dimensions of the box...

man this Denon DCA-800 amp is really frustrating me... i cant find any manuals or docs for it.. not even from manf. site...

The switch on it says 2ohm----4 ohm, but underneath the 2ohm it says (4 ohms bridged)...
does that mean i cant bridge it in 2ohm??!?
arg!!

It PROBABLY means:
... with switch in 4 ohm
- 8 ohms bridged
- 4 ohms stereo

... with switch in 2 ohm
- 4 ohms bridged
- 2 ohms stereo

That sub, however, is a dual 4 ohm ... so you can get the maximum out of the amp by putting the switch in 4 ohm and either running one coil to each channel OR running each coil in series (getting 8 ohms) and using the amp bridged (I would prefer this way personally).

Thats an awesome break down thx alot...

so what would be the difference between running stereo 4ohm to each coil and running in 8ohm bridge in series? And why the personal preference to the series wire? Would it get more watts on the bridged 8ohm?

you'd get the same power, but when they're wired in series, and the amp is bridged, you dont have to worry about the gains on both chanels being exactly equal.
