Install book?
I have been into car stereo for since I can remember. I was out of the scene for a bit, but want to make a comeback. I am actuall looking into a career in the auto industry and am trying to learn everything I can. I know there are schools for car audio installation, but at about 3500 I can manage to find a way to learn things on my own. I was just wondering, do those schools work from a text book? Is it possible to get a hold of these text books?
Any help would be appreciated.
thanks

I found this book and I am thinking that I might buy it:
http://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/ASI...188877-0699553
The reason I chose that book is becase it was updated in Jan 2004.
The MECP book...what kind of stuff does it have? Does it give pictures and descriptions of how to make things. I want to know how to like fabricate a dash from fiberglass and resin, or create custom door panels, stuff like that.
Team Shadow, I went to that site, but I am a little lost as to what book your are talking about. The link is for a hat?
Thanks guys for the help!!

Loudspeaker design cookbook and MECP are both pretty text heavy. If you want to learn fabrication books are not the way to go, there aren't any on it. Check out websites www. has many good step by step builds. Also www.jlaudio.com and go to tutorials, there are some good ones on mold making and soor panel fabrication there.
So these books, what exactly do they teach you? I am basically getting from you guys that the only way to learn is trial and error? What will these books give me?
THanks again for the help...I have said before and I will say it again...you guys really know your ****!!

^ Usually. If you have the general idea of how something is made then the only way to get proficient is to get down and get dusty.
If you don't have the general idea then bump around online and you'll find sites for how to fab just about anything.
