Well installed my w7 in my grand am today heres some pics. Unfortuantly we already ran into a problem, my clarion amp went into protect mode.

Any ideas,

Pictures of the amps cap and sub ground from alt to ground and battery to ground.

 

Install looks clean. Just a couple of questions

a) why is the sub firing to the side?
b) i notice 2/3 wires for the big 3 done... wheres the positive batt to positive alt wire?
c) did you make sure to grind down any paint where you grounded your wires to the chassis?

 

I took of the paint on the shock tower, not on the fender (u cant see cuz i painted it should i do the fender? I went and bought all the wiring before the install, im kinda new to this. I wasnt aware of that wire so thats going to happen soon. I just gotta fuiger out where to run it. Thanks for the cnc

 

Driving around tn, even with the cap lights still dim, worries me cuz hid's and halo foglights soon.

So new alt or do u think that's BIG 3 will fix that once I re run the 0awg power to alternater?

In my head that would work as good, should I get a new alternetar or a kinteck battary.

 

your missing the most crucial part of the BIG 3 so wait until you get the positive alt to positive batt run and see what happens.

 

Yeah that's what I thought.

 

PROBLEM- k get into my car this morning, the battarys dead so I jump it. I eventually get going on my way to work and randomly, my screen shuts off and music stops bass stops it basically resets itself over and over and get this the airbag light illuminates! Ugh oh. Now remember I didn't re do the power to the alt yet and my steering wheel controls arnt working yet ethir. So now the trouble shooting starts.

 

your system might have shorted out when you boosted your car. its common practice to ususally disconect your power wire from your fuse holder when boosting your battery.

 

**** wish I knew that before so no what do I look for?

 

is it a persistant problem for the deck to turn on and off like you said above?
