Installer help needed with factory integration
Hey guys, just wondering who on here is good with factory integration setups?
I've got a 2006 Zephyr with the THX certified stereo and plan on adding my subs and a new amp to the trunk. I want to keep everything as factory as possible but have a few questions regarding the setup, where to draw input signal from, etc...
Any help would be a appreciated, please just shoot me a PM or post up whatever info you've got in here, or experiences with this stereo. Thanks

Easy Beans dawg.. Audiocontrol Epicenter...or Soundstreams bass module...and just tap off the OEM sub signal and tune..and all it a day....
It will still miss some of the lower midbass frequencies..but should work very well

yes but with the dsp control in the amps will in not still attenuate the output to prevent clipping. I believe the volume to the subs is reduced as the deck volume is increased ( obviously not the best situation for aftermarket subs).....could the signal be taken from before the sub amp to prevent this?
The amps are "smart" in that they use digital signal processing to modify their behavior depending on the program material and volume setting. This ensures that the amps don't get too hot and that the speakers aren't driven too hard, especially since THX did not want to overdesign the speakers, which would impede their performance. The DSP, which resides in the amps rather than the head unit, monitors the peak and average levels and adjusts the master gain if any channel is going into distress. It also implements a form of soft clipping to further reduce distortion

ok, that is what I was hoping. I was not sure how the dsp worked in those amps.... I didnt konw if the amp itself did the adjustments or if it sent the deck the info and it adjusted.... after re reading the article I posted I figured it was all done by the amp.....
unfortunatly I have not had a chance to look at this car yet.... any advice as to what wires I am looking for? is it a high lvl input into the factory amps?
there are 2 factory subs in there are they being fed a stereo signal or mono?

I might have notes on it back at my shop, I am in Whistler though for another 2 weeks yet though and I don't want to guess. I am sure that there is info out there somewhere about this car. My guess is that it is a low level signal going to the amps but it will not be in a standard rca cable format.
