Another little question for you guys. I picked up 22 guage speaker wire last night to extend my front speaker wires. Got a lot left over, so can I use this for my remote turn-on or "signal" wire?

LOL!!! don't give advise if you don't know what you are saying... What you just said is the most rediculous thing I have ever heard! If you want you car to catch fire thats fine, but don't pass your inexperience on to someone else!

I have big long terminals sticking out of my battery with runs of wire coming off of them. It as been like this for 4-5 years now and never had a problem, the battery is properly secured and on top of the wheel well. Nothing never bad came out of it. No corrosion. sparks from water hitting it, nothing. You could always wrap your battery in a plastic bag. LOL

So you guys think 22 guage is fine? The guys on the local forum are saying to run 16 gauge to be on the safe side.

I've never had any issues by not covering my battery. In fact, look at any older vehicle and some newer ones. Battery and terminals are not covered. Only recently have they started to cover the battery terminals.

There should be ample clearance above your battery and as long as the battery is properly secured, it will never touch your hood or anything else.

I don't know why we are even arguing over this. Why don't we just have a poll... This is starting to look like a capacitor debate.

Maybe you should shut your mouth because you are arguing over something pointless.

Damn kids these days. lol

22 gauge will be fine. It is running such a small amperage that 22 gauge should be sufficient.
