installing sound deadener

when installing sound deadener, ie brown bread, in the trunk, do you need to remove every wire and cable, or can you layer the material over top of the cables? i'm talking about brake light wires and stuff like that, things that you'd never need to access anyway.

You should remove all wires before applying or you might defeat the purpose of adding sound deadning in the first place. The idea is to get as big a peice as you can with no obstructions or unneccesary cuts. Not only that, you know that as soon as you do that you will need to access those wires.
